Solemnity of St. Benedict
Antiphon (mantra) repeat quietly:
The man of God, Benedict, was filled with the spirit of all the just.
I will thank you, God, with all my heart
in the meeting of the just and the assembly.
Great are your marvelous works,
to be pondered by all who love them.
Radiant and glorious your work;
your justice stands firm forever.
We remember your wonders.
You are compassion and love.
You give food to those who keep faith,
keeping your covenant ever in mind.
You have shown your splendor to your people,
giving them the lands of the nations.
Your works are justice and truth;
your precepts are all of them sure.
Standing firm for ever and ever;
they are made in faithfulness and truth.
You have sent deliverance to your people
and established your covenant forever.
Holy and glorious is your name.
To honor you is the first stage of wisdom;
all who do so prove themselves wise.
Your praise will last forever!
Pray the Prayer of Jesus (Our Father)
