Oblate Profile
I have been gifted to be able to teach at the Neighborhood Art House. Through weaving, knots and braiding, I help the children think creatively. It gives me such delight to work with them. As the mother of five children and grandmother to seven grandchildren, I can be present for these inner-city youth as well. God is good.
Why are you an oblate?
When I moved to Erie in 1987, I discovered the Benedictine Sisters and their ministries. They live as Christ wants us to live. Their ministries resonate with me. In the Rule of Benedict, I found common beliefs specifically in humility and respect for manual work. All of my life, I have been seeking God. Being an oblate helps me because I am around such spiritual people.
