Oblate Profile
I love my life. I find joy in family, friends, fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, knitting, reading, spiritual journaling, learning. Since retiring from a very technical position in communications, I have more flexibility with my time. We have a second home in Canada near our daughter and her family. I try to live the Rule, giving God thanks for all my blessings and sharing the gifts given to me when I find the need.
Why are you an oblate?
This is a hard question for me. I am an Oblate because
I feel called to the prayer and service I see exemplified by the sisters at Erie. I find guidance and answers in the Rule of Benedict. I see examples of how to live a fulfilled life in the lives of other Oblates. When I came to the Monastery for the first time, I felt I was at peace and home.
