Silent Peace Walk and Farming While Black Film Screenint

Benedictines for Peace will host a Silent Peace Walk at Perry Square on Juneteenth with a special intention celebrating African American Heritage, culture and freedom.

The practice of walking silently, slowly, mindfully, is an effort to grow peace and freedom in our own hearts and join others in ongoing struggles for justice.

All are welcome to join this simple, nonviolent action for peace, then stay in Perry Square for another Juneteenth Event: a special free screening of the documentary “Farming While Black.” Movie starts at dusk. Before the film, meet local growers, participate in educational activities, savor tasting plates of local soul food, and hear about all the new farmers' markets in our city.
