As we celebrate Easter, the cornerstone of the Christian faith, let us remember that Jesus’ resurrection promises eternal life to all who believe.
If Jesus had not risen from the dead he would have simply been another teacher or prophet. It is his resurrection that proclaims that death is not the last word. Jesus has conquered death. The light of new life triumphs over the shadow of death. The disciples, filled with the Spirit, go out to the ends of the earth, courageously witnessing to this truth.
This celebration of Easter, Jesus’ resurrection, offers a fresh beginning and hope to sustain us in times of suffering and doubt. When we are feeling overwhelmed by the darkness of sorrow and grief, violence and injustice, discrimination and the climate crisis, let us turn to the Risen Jesus and find strength and courage in his victory.
May you experience the life-giving energy of resurrection in your life and go forth as witnesses of the unconditional love of God.
In the words of Pope Francis, “Easter is the event that brought radical news for every human being, for history and for the world: the triumph of life over death; it is the feast of reawakening and of rebirth. Let us allow our lives to be conquered and transformed by the Resurrection!”
Christ is truly risen, we have reasons to rejoice and to sing ALLELUIA!
Happy Easter!
