SBA Alum Jennie Hagerty addresses sold-out luncheon

Members of the Benedictine Sisters Communications and Development team heard SBA alum Jennie Hagerty, '83, Executive Director of the Mercy Center for Women, deliver the keynote address at the Impact 2024 Women in Leadership Luncheon. Pictured are Michelle Scully, Michelle Basista, Jennie Hagerty, and Sister Linda Romey. Jennie delivered her inspiring message to a sold-out gathering at the Erie Manufacturer and Business Association event. The support of family, servant leadership, community support, and never-ending growth were key themes of her speech. "Everything is possible for one who believes," she told attendees, citing Mark 9:23.

Jennie has led Mercy Center for Women since 2017, the year she participated in the Cycling with Sisters 100-mile bike ride from Erie to Niagara Falls, a joint effort of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Sisters of Mercy, and Benedictine Sisters in conjunction with Communicators for Women Religious. She used the ride as an example of the value of collaboration with others in the community.

She recently raised more than five million dollars to create the Mercy Anchor Community Center. Monday, March 25 is the Mercy Center for Women Women Making History 2024 event, open to the public. More information here
