On March 10, Benedictine Sister Marian Wehler (left) and Mercy Sister Tina Geiger of Catholic Rural Ministries in Oil City celebrated International Women’s Day along with their local YWCA’s 100th Anniversary team and Zonta International’s 100 years local members at Christ Episcopal Parish Center. Sisters Marian and Tina were asked to be speakers at the event and they chose to use Standing on the Shoulders as their theme of being empowered by strong women themselves. They work to empower others today. The local newspaper, The Derrick, covered the event with a front-page story. Read it here.
