Sister Anne McCarthy received a 2024 Mercy Center for Women Women Making History award at the Mercyhurst University Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 25. Sister Anne's five sisters and one of her nieces, pictured here with her, along with many of her Benedictine sisters, joined her for the program and celebration. In speaking about the work of Mercy Center for Women, Sister Anne said, "When the women were the most vulnerable and in need, the Mercy Center was a lifeline to a different future for them and their children. The relationships with the Mercy Center continued, cheering them, no matter the challenge they faced. The women are inspiring."

Among the fifteen women honored were two Art House instructors, Barbara Hauck and Sarah Howard. Awardee Linda Laird Staszewski and Mercy Center Director Jennie Hagerty are St. Benedict Academy alumnae. We congratulate all the women making history.
