The twelve goats traveled to Glinodo from Lets Goat Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. They provide an environmentally healthy--and fun--way to deal with invasive species along seven-mile creek. Grant funding finances the stay of the goats and their goatherds at Glinodo.
Download a flier with information about Goat Fest, this Saturday from 1 - 4 p.m. at Glinodo Center, 6270 East Lake Road (across from the monastery). The event is family-friendly and free – join us for a storybook trail, nature art, snacks, and games. The Mercyhurst University Office of Sustainability will be present for some activities and education as well. There will be a brief presentation from the goatherds at 1:30 and again at 3:00 about the goats and how the rid the area of invasive species. Of course, there will also be opportunity to meet the goats.
