Emmaus Urban Bike Tour

Erie Benedictines, including Emmaus Ministries director Sister Val Luckey, were among the thirty cyclists who took part the Emmaus Ministries Urban Bike Tour on September 13. The 18-mile ride was planned as a special forward-looking part of Emmaus' 50th year providing "bread for the body, food for the soul."

The riders visited a dozen sites around Erie that impact food and health in our city. At each stop, they heard from farmers, gardeners, bakers, and others. Read cyclist and reporter Liz Allen's post at GoErie.com to learn more.

A committee of Emmaus staff, board members and volunteers--Sister Val, Mary Hoffman, Kathy Dahlkemper, Amy VanScoter, Darlene Feeney, and Sister Linda Romey--planned the ride and hope that it becomes an annual event.
