The Benedictine Sisters thanked and honored the special people who support them directly in their Benedictine life of prayer, community, and ministry as employees at the monastery with a recognition and thank you luncheon on July 19.
Built around the theme of "Our Employees Rock," the annual event brought together employees from every department—Business Office, Communications and Development including SBA Alumnae Board, Food Service, Health Services, Beautician, Housekeeping, and Physical Resources—and many of their families. The dining and community rooms were filled to capacity with children, grandchildren, spouses, and other relatives.
Sister Diane Rabe welcomed everyone and then invited sisters to offer a blessing for the employees. A small musical ensemble directed by Sister Charlotte Anne Zalot and including Sisters Anne Wambach, Colleen Leathley, Susan Doubet, and Dianne Sabol provided appropriate entertainment with a drumstick rendition of “Love Will Keep Us Together.” Sisters and coworkers honored Dan W., who retired this year after 38 years in maintenance, with a special song and words of gratitude. New employees were welcomed, and everyone went home with a cash prize.
Human Resources Director Sister Judith Trambley oversaw the event and counted on the creative organization and design skills of Sisters Diane Cook, Katherine Horan, and Charlotte Anne.
