SBA Class of 1975 reunion

The SBA Class of 1975 joined the sisters at the monastery for liturgy followed by coffee and breads on Sunday September 21 as part of their 50th reunion celebration. The evening before, the members of the class gathered at Calamari's in Erie.

At the monastery, in addition to enjoying coffee and homemade sweetbreads, they had the chance to visit with some of their former teachers, Sisters Phyllis Schleicher, Dorothy Stoner, and Mary Ellen Plumb. In the course of their visiting, the women offered a litany of thanks: "Thank you for the life lessons you taught (Lori Snell Honard); for being there during our high school years! (Anna Dodick Aicher); for a great education (Sharon Czulewicz); for all that you did then and all that you do now (Karen Lilly Dombrowski); for being a guiding light in my life (Meg Habas Morris); for all your love and hard work whipping us into shape! (Judy Bulishak Goddard); and for all you instilled in us (Sharon Plumb Sparacino). Sister Elizabeth Adams is a member of the Class of 1975--she is the last SBA alumna who entered the Benedictine community.

After coffee, the group toured the former SBA building which has been St. Benedict Education Center since the year after the school closed in 1988. While the students are different--adults working to find employment, get off welfare, and new immigrants learning our language and culture--SBA still supports about education and self-improvement.
