With the luck of the Irish, and possibly the invocation of St. Brigid herself, 32 participants enjoyed a spiritually enriching and enjoyable afternoon retreat at Glinodo on the vigil of the feast of St. Brigid, Saturday January 31. Warm indoors, and clear outdoors with near-double-digit temperatures, the day’s graces included a beautiful red sunset over the lake and full moon rising.
Facilitated by Sister Anne McCarthy, and accompanied with beautiful, lyrical Irish music from Pam Verity, participants heard stories about Brigid’s life and legacy, enhanced by Anne’s visits to Kildare. They also enjoyed homemade scones, made Brigid crosses, prayed and reflected with symbols of earth, water, mantle and fire, and enjoyed a hearty homemade potato soup and soda bread supper before going outside for a fire ritual.
Congratulations and thanks to Anne & Pam, St. Brigid, and the team of very good helpers and contributors!
