Monastery Opens "Pieces of Peace" Art Show

Peacemakers hang art pieces for the gallery.

On March 3rd, the 2026 Women’s Art Show was hung at the Mount Saint Benedict Monastery. The women from this year's Benedictine Peacemaker cohort were among the individuals who assisted in arranging and displaying the art pieces in "Pieces of Peace."

“This is one of our largest art shows we’ve curated, featuring over 50 pieces from 48 artists,” said Sister Margaret Pilewski, event organizer.

Multiple artists contributed to this year's show, including sisters, oblates, staff, and friends. There are a wide variety of mediums included, such as painting, photography, sewing, knitting, ceramics, woodturning, cross-stitch, and multimedia.

"Pieces of Peace" will open on Sunday March 8 from 10:30am - 12pm. All are welcome to join for 9:30 liturgy preceding the opening of the art show. Many pieces are for sale, and the Chapter 57 gift shop will be open.

Following the opening, the art show may be viewed any day of the week, between 1:00 - 4:00 PM, in the Chapter 57 Gallery at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery. The show will remain in the gallery through Easter.

The monastery is located at 6101 E Lake Rd, Erie, PA 16511.
