Lent Monastery Tour

Individuals gathered in Lent tour

About 20 individuals attended this year's Lent monastery tour on March 7th. This event brought attendees through four different important rooms in the monastery. In each room, a different Sister talked about life as a Benedictine and how they use each room to facilitate their good work.

In the chapel, Sister Charlotte Zalot spoke about the chapel's history and way the Sisters center prayer and liturgical life. Sister Mary Ellen Plumb talked about Benedictine hospitality in the front parlor. In the library, tour attendees learned about Benedictine ministry and care for creation from Sisters Jacqueline Sanchez-Small and Judith Trambley. Sister Ann Hoffman spoke about community and the Benedictine vow of stability in the community room.

Following the tour, guests, sisters, and oblates shared lively conversations over dinner. Tour guests also had the opportunity to visit Chapter 57, and were able to get an early look at the Women’s Art Show. Many also stayed for Saturday evening’s Lenten Vigil.

Information about future tours will be posted on our website.
