Benedictines 55 and Under

Sisters Jen, Jacqueline, Val, and Anne

Erie Benedictines Sisters Jen Frazer, Jacqueline Sanchez-Small, and Val Luckey were participants in the Benedictine 55 and Under gathering that took place at the Benedictine Monastery of Duluth, Minnesota, in early July. Sister Anne McCarthy, far right, presented at the conference where forty-five Benedictines under the age of fifty-five gathered for weekend of prayer, input, reflection, and socializing.

“What a gift it was to hear our own Sister Anne reflect on the beautiful way of life we share. Through her reflections on prayer, stability, and adaptability we were renewed in our appreciation for living life interdependently—a true gift in our world today,” said Sister Val. Sister Anne's sessions were Cenobitic Gifts in Divisive Times, Choral Chanting as Singing Resistance, and The Hemina as Model for Adaptation.
