Mary Dwyer is a long-time student of Thomas Keating, an American Trappist monk who contributed to the development and popularity of Centering Prayer. He was a founding member of Contemplative Outreach; Keating died in 2018. Mary met Juan when she went to Miami to present for Contemplative Outreach. They married in 2009 and when Juan retired in 2018 they relocated back to Erie. Juan is a commissioned Centering Prayer presenter and facilitates the centering prayer group at the Cathedral of St. Paul Thursday evenings.
