Good Friday Pilgrimage for Peace

Peace pilgrimage banner

Benedictines for Peace is sponsoring the Good Friday Pilgrimage for Peace on Friday, April 3, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am at St. Peter Cathedral, 10th and Sassafras Streets in Erie.

Racism is the focus of this year’s contemporary Stations of the Cross. We will walk through the city of Erie, stopping to pray at places that connect us to or remind us of the reality of racism and the suffering it continues to cause in midst. Between stops, participants walk in silence on a route through the city.

A chartered bus will be available for those who choose to ride for all or any part of the Pilgrimage. Before returning to Mount St. Benedict at the end of the pilgrimage, the bus will stop at 10th and Sassafras for those who left their cars at that location.

The final stop of the Stations is included in the 3:00 pm Good Friday service at the monastery; all are welcome to attend.

All are welcome to participate in the Good Friday public pilgrimage for peace.
